My next book is Cursed Objects, about a young curse breaker in LA from an ancient coven of blood witches and the very annoying Russian Count saved from the Bolsheviks in 1912 but placed under a curse that keeps him in the Shadowlands. Subscribers to my newsletter got a sneak peek at this book a few months ago. What I like most is finally being able to introduce the Shadowlands and its City States and citizens at last to readers. I have only hinted at them up until now with a few intros in Perilous Grace and Deadly Grace, books 2 and 3 of the Avenging Angel series.
I had shelved the Cursed Objects project for awhile after losing the entire final battle in an incredibly stupid move on my iPad while writing on the road. For the longest time I just couldn't face rethinking and plotting out those final forty pages all over again.
Of course when I forced myself to 'suck it up buttercup' they turned out waaaaay better than the original -- which is always the case but still, the inner whining.....
Have to start thinking about the cover but wanted to preview the title and author done in fire script. Oh yeah, I taught myself how to do that on PhotoShop. Yep. I rock.
